                        INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
 
 
 INTRODUCTION:
 
     EXTRNVGA.COM is a terminate and stay resident program for use with
     the COMPAQ SLT/286 computer that is unable to properly detect the
     presence of an externally connected Zenith monitor.
 
 
 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
 
     Any COMPAQ SLT/286 Computer  when  using a Zenith Data Systems,
     Zenith FTM 1490 Monitor.
 
 
 WHO SHOULD USE:
 
     The patch should be used  if  the  SLT/286 does not detect the
     presence of an externally connected Zenith VGA monitor.
 
 
 
 HOW TO USE:
 
     Copy the program EXTRNVGA.COM  from the distribution diskette to
     your  system diskette or fixed disk.  Be certain that it is in a
     subdirectory to which you are pathed.
 
     Using an editor, add a line  in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file, using the
     following syntax:
          [d:][path]EXTRNVGA.COM
 
     When the package is  successfully  installed,  you will get the
     following message:
 
          EXTRNVGA.COM - Version 1.00
          (C) Copyright COMPAQ Computer Corp. 1989
 
 
 EFFECTS ON YOUR SYSTEM:
 
     Once installed, the patch cannot  be uninstalled until you reboot
     your computer.
