COMSTSFX.COM
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
INTRODUCTION:
COMSTSFX.COM is a program which is executed after Torus
Tapestry's AUTOLOAD.EXE is initiated. It's purpose
is to correct the state of the COM1 serial I/O port, transmit buffer
empty status bits.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
Any COMPAQ computer with a COM1 serial device
which has been implemented in an ASIC.
WHO SHOULD USE:
Use this program if you are having problems with serial I/O
on COM1 after running Torus Tapestry AUTOLOAD.EXE.
HOW TO USE:
1. Copy the program COMSTSFX.COM from the distribution
diskette to your system diskette or fixed disk.
2. Assuming that Torus Tapestry's AUTOLOAD.EXE is run from
your AUTOEXEC.BAT file: using an editor, add a line to your
AUTOEXEC.BAT file immediately after the line which executes
AUTOLOAD.EXE, to execute COMSTSFX.COM at system boot.
3. The syntax of the program is: COMSTSFX. There are no
command line parameters.
4. When the package has been successfully installed, you will get
the following messages:
COMSTSFX (Release 1.0) Copyright (C) 1991 COMPAQ Computer Corp.
COMSTSFX complete.
EFFECTS ON YOUR SYSTEM:
This program simply corrects the COM1 status port bits. It does not
remain in memory or alter the system after it has been executed.
