SHELLC.COM Installation Instructions INTRODUCTION: SHELLC.EXE is a program for use with any 386 COMPAQ Computer products experiencing problems with the cursor when running the DOS 4.01 graphics shell environment. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Any COMPAQ systems equipped with Video Graphics Array (VGA), either built-in or on an adapter. WHO SHOULD USE: You should use this driver if you encounter problem with the cursor in the DOS 4.01 graphics shell environment. HOW TO USE: 1. Copy the driver file SHELLC.COM into the same subdirectory where SHELLC.EXE is located. Usually this is the directory where all DOS 4.01 files are copied to. 2. Run the shell as usual: use the DOSSHELL.BAT provided with DOS 4.01. 3. The following logo will be displayed as SHELLC.COM is loaded: SHELLC.COM version 1.0 Copyright Compaq Computer Corporation 1990 SHELLC.COM will load SHELLC.EXE when its initialization is complete. EFFECTS ON YOUR SYSTEM: SHELLC.COM will consume around 300 bytes of system memory. Since SHELLC.COM is a loader, it will terminate as soon as the user exits the SHELLC.EXE program.
