                     INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

 INTRODUCTION:

	KT_FIX is a program for use with any Compaq computer that is
	experiencing difficulty executing the 1784-KT software.

 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

	Any Compaq computer.  A printer is not required to run the patch,
	however, the problem that this patch corrects does not exist unless
	a printer is connected to the back of the machine.

 WHO SHOULD USE:

	Use the program if the 1784-KT software locks up with "working..."
	flashing on the screen when you try to communicate.

 HOW TO USE:

	1. Copy the program KT_FIX.COM from the distribution diskette
	   on to your system diskette or fixed disk.

	2. Using an editor, add a line at the beginning of your
	   AUTOEXEC.BAT file to execute the program at system boot.

	3. The line should simply read "KT_FIX".

	4. There is no special syntax or extra parameters.

 EFFECTS ON YOUR SYSTEM: 

	There will be no effect to your system except the small amount of
	time required to execute the program.
